Part1. What is Agastache rugosa extract?
Agastache rugosa extract is a product extracted from the whole plant of Lamiaceae Pogostemoncablin (Blanco) Benth. or Agastacherugosa (Fisch. Chemicalbooket Mey.) O.Ktze. The main active ingredient is volatile oil, which has antifungal properties. Antispasmodic, analgesic, invigorating the stomach, antiemetic, antidiarrheal, and improving gastric secretion function.
Part2. Main ingredients
Huoxiang contains volatile oil, about 0.5% in leaves and 0.28% in whole grass. The main components in the oil are about 80% of methyl piperonol, about 3% of anisaldehyde, about 2% of p-methoxycinnamaldehyde, and a small amount of Limonene, times with terpenes and so on.
Part3. Pharmacological effects
1. Antifungal effect
Huoxiang decoction (8% to 15%) has inhibitory effect on various pathogenic fungi such as Trichophyton xulansi, and Huoxiang ethyl ether extract (3%) and alcohol extract (1%) can also inhibit a variety of pathogenic fungi. The antifungal effect of the water extract is similar to that of the decoction; Trichophyton interdigita and Trichophyton foot plantar can only be inhibited when the decoction is 15%, while ether extract is 3%, alcohol extract is 5%, and water extract It has antibacterial effect at 10% concentration, so the extract of Huoxiang has stronger antibacterial effect than the decoction.
2. Anti-spirochete effect
Huoxiang decoction (15 mg/ml) has inhibitory effect on Leptospira, but the concentration must be increased to 31 mg/ml to kill Leptospira.
3. Stomach invigorating and antiemetic effects
Huoxiang volatile oil can promote the secretion of gastric juice, inhibit excessive gastrointestinal peristalsis, and has the functions of invigorating the stomach, antiemetic, antispasmodic, and antiseptic.
